What counts as a "body of work" for Alliance Core? ↓
Three completed AI film projects submitted for review. They do not need to be polished features — short films, experimental pieces, and works in progress are all considered. What AICA is looking for is evidence of creative intent and commitment to the medium. Approval or feedback is given within 48 hours.
Can I upgrade from Emerging to Alliance Core later? ↓
Yes — and many members will. Emerging is the right starting point if you are new to AI filmmaking or not yet ready to submit a body of work. When you are ready, you apply for Alliance Core. Your founding rate as an Emerging member does not transfer — Alliance Core has its own founding rate for the first 100 members.
What is the founding rate and why does it matter? ↓
The founding rate is a special price for the first 100 members at each tier — locked for life. If you join as one of the first 100 Emerging members at $5/month, you will never pay more than $5/month for as long as you remain a member. This is AICA's commitment to the people who believed in the institution early.
Is the Craft Pillar really included in Alliance Core? ↓
Yes — all 16 modules, all future modules as they launch, live workshops, and the path to AICA Craft Certification. Not as an add-on. Not as a separate purchase. Included in your Alliance Core membership, forever, for as long as you are a member.
Can I apply for Fellowship? ↓
No. Fellowship cannot be applied for. It is a recognition conferred by existing Fellows and confirmed by the Founder. The best pathway to becoming visible to the Fellowship is completing the AICA Craft Pillar, earning Craft Certification, and building a sustained body of work of genuine quality. When the work is ready, the Fellowship takes notice.
What happens if I cancel? ↓
You can cancel at any time with no penalty. Your membership remains active until the end of your billing period. If you cancel within the first 30 days, you receive a full refund — no questions asked. Your Craft Pillar progress and any certifications earned remain on record.
Are there Artisan memberships? ↓
Yes — Artisan identities (Composer, Architect, Sound Builder, Narrator, Technologist) are available to members at all tiers. Alliance Core membership is the appropriate tier for verified Artisans, as it includes full community access, collaboration tools, and the credential pathway. Artisan verification is assessed against mastery within the specific discipline — a different standard from filmmakers, not a lower one.
